Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of June 21

Over 70 combat engagements took place on the frontline since the beginning of the day. The most tense situation is in the Pokrovsk sector, where almost a third of all attacks were registered, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the day and as of 4 p.m. Kyiv time, 77 combat engagements took place at the front. Ukrainian defenders are stopping the Russian troops and holding the line.
During the day, Russians fired artillery shells at the areas of Pokrovka, Novodmytrivka, Porozok, Yizdetske, Rozhkovychi, Dmytrivka, Myropilske, Popivka, Prohres, Chuikivka, Vysoke, Malushyne, Luhivka, Bachivsk, Tovstodubove, Ulanove, Marine in Sumy region; Tymofiivka in Kharkiv region; and Liskivshchyna in Chernihiv region.
Sectors
Ukrainian defenders repelled 3 Russian attacks in the North-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk sectors. Russians carried out 3 air strikes, dropped 6 guided aerial bombs, and fired 152 artillery rounds, including 5 from multiple launch rocket systems.
In the South-Slobozhanskyi sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 2 Russian attacks in the vicinity of Kamianka and the direction of Krasne Pershne. Russia launched air strikes near Komisarove.
In the Kupiansk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled a Russian attack near Holubivka, and another firefight near Zahryzove is still ongoing.
In the Lyman sector, 11 combat clashes took place near Hrekivka, Ridkodub, Zelena Dolyna, Torske, in the direction of Cherneshchyna, Olhivka, Novyi Myr, and Karpivka. 4 combat clashes are currently ongoing.
In the Siversk sector, Russians attacked Ukrainian positions twice near Hryhorivka, and one combat clash is still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russians attacked 6 times in the area of Bila Hora and towards Predtechyno. A combat clash is still ongoing.
In the Toretsk sector, Russian troops attacked 7 times in the areas of Dyliivka, Shcherbynivka, and towards Yablunivka. 3 combat engagements are ongoing.
High Russian activity is still observed in the Pokrovsk sector. 29 times today, combat clashes of varying intensity started near the localities of Myrne, Malynivka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachanske, Shevchenko, Udachne, Horikhove, Kotliarivka, in the direction of Shakhove, Novopavlivka, and Oleksiivka. 5 battles are still ongoing. Russia launched air strikes near Razine, Novoekonomichne, and Sukhyi Yar.
In the Novopavlivka sector, Russia tried to advance 4 times in the areas of Myrne, Shevchenko, and Vilne Pole. 2 combat clashes are still ongoing.
In the Orikhiv sector, Russian troops tried to advance 3 times to the positions of Ukrainian defenders near Novoandriivka and Kamianske, and Russian aircraft attacked Lobkove and Stepnohirsk.
Russians did not conduct any active offensive actions at the Huliaipole and Prydniprovskyi sector, but did conduct an air strike on Kozatske in the Kherson region.
"Ukrainian troops are depleting Russian troops along the entire front line and in the rear," Ukraine's General Staff notes.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia has already lost 1,010,390 troops since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Over the past day alone, Ukrainian soldiers eliminated over 1,000 Russian troops.
