Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of January 27

Over the last day, January 26, 166 combat engagements took place in the frontline. Almost half of the fighting was recorded in the Pokrovsk sector, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Over the past 24 hours, aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces of Ukraine hit 4 control points, 4 areas of concentration of personnel and equipment and one other important object of the Russian invaders,” Ukraine's General Staff writes.
Situation at front
In the Kharkiv sector, Russians attacked the positions of Ukrainian troops 4 times near the town of Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk sector, 11 Russian attacks took place near Stepova Novoselivka, Kolisnykivka, Hlushkivka, and Zahryzove.
In the Lyman sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 15 Russian attacks near Hrekivka, Novoiehorivka, Nadiia, Zelenyi Hai, Makiivka, Yampolivk, and Torske.
In the Kramatorsk sector, 21 combat engagements were registered in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, and Bila Hora.
In the Toretsk sector, Russia carried out 9 attacks in the area of Toretsk.
In the Pokrovsk sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces stopped 78 Russian assaults and offensive actions in the areas of Vodiane Druhe, Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, and other localities.
In the Novopavlivka sector, the Russians attacked 12 times near Kostiantynopil, Rozlyv, Rozdolne, Novosilka, and Velyka Novosilka.
In the Orikhiv sector, Russia attacked once in the direction of Novoandriivka.
In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russia conducted one unsuccessful attack on the positions of Ukrainian troops.
Russia's losses in war against Ukraine
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia's losses in manpower have amounted to more than 831,000 troops. Over the past 24 hours alone, Russia lost another 1,430 soldiers. Also yesterday, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 3 Russian tanks, 12 armored combat vehicles, and 16 artillery systems.
