Since the start of the day on October 19, 138 combat engagements have been recorded on the frontline. The highest number of assaults occurred in the Kurakhove, Pokrovsk, and Toretsk directions in the Donetsk region, according to the evening report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Enemy shelling

Over the past day, Russian forces launched two missile strikes (with three missiles) and 57 airstrikes (using 97 guided bombs) across Ukrainian territory. Additionally, the Russians deployed 607 kamikaze drones and fired over 3,000 times at Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian defensive lines six times near Starytsia and Vovchansk. According to available information, enemy losses in this area amounted to 74 personnel, either killed or wounded, two vehicles destroyed, and 25 UAVs shot down. Ukrainian troops also damaged two Russian vehicles.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces launched 16 assaults near Kucherivka, Kolisnykivka, Kruhliakivka, and Lozova. Ukrainian defenders repelled all attacks. Russian forces also conducted an airstrike on Kupiansk.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions ten times near Novomykhailivka, Hrekivka, Terny, and Serebrianka throughout the day. While Ukrainian forces offered strong resistance, one engagement is still ongoing. Russian airstrikes targeted Novoyehorivka and Terny.

In the Siversk direction, the enemy did not conduct active offensive operations but struck Siversk and Riznykivka with guided bombs and shelled Ukrainian troops' positions.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders halted three Russian assaults near Andriivka, Predtechyne, and Stupochky. The situation remains under control.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces attacked four times near Toretsk, Shcherbynivka, and in the direction of Oleksandro-Shultyne, with two ongoing engagements. Russian forces heavily relied on aviation throughout the day, striking areas near Toretsk and Katerynivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces attempted 24 assaults near Myroliubivka, Promin, and Selydove since the start of the day. Seven attacks are still ongoing.

The enemy is suffering heavy losses — 214 Russian forces were neutralized today in this direction, 97 of whom were killed. Additionally, a vehicle, four motorcycles, and an anti-tank missile system were destroyed.

In the Kurakhove direction, the hottest fighting took place, where the enemy, supported by aviation, launched 50 attacks near Zoriane, Novodmytrivka, Zhelanne Druhe, Hirnyk, Heorhiivka, Maksymilianivka, Antonivka, and Katerynivka. According to updated information, 17 engagements are still underway.

In the Vremivka direction, Russian forces carried out four assaults near Novoukrainka and Bohoyavlenka, all of which were repelled by Ukrainian troops.

In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attempted to advance near Mala Tokmachka. Ukrainian defenders repelled two assaults. Russian forces also carried out an airstrike on Zaporizhzhia, with civilian casualties reported in the regional center.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian forces were defeated six times while attempting to breach Ukrainian defensive lines.

Air attacks and diplomatic efforts

On the evening of Saturday, October 19, Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia using guided bombs.

As a result of the shelling, 10 people were injured, and residential buildings and a shopping center were damaged.

Zelenskyy's team appealed to Western partners regarding North Korea’s involvement in the war on Russia’s side. The Presidential Office of Ukraine warned that if this alliance is not stopped, a large-scale war in Europe is inevitable.
