Russia strikes Zaporizhzhia: Officials reveal aftermath
On Saturday evening, October 19, Russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia with airstrikes. As a result, ten residents were injured, and damage was reported in the city, according to the National Police of Ukraine.
“This evening, Russian troops carried out three airstrikes (likely using aircraft bombs) on the regional center. Among the injured are two children aged 9 and 13,” the statement reads.
Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, clarified that by 10:20 p.m. (Kyiv time), the number of injured had risen to 10.
According to the National Police of Ukraine, three districts of the regional center were targeted. Russian munitions struck near a private residence and open areas.

As a result of the airstrikes, a residential building was partially destroyed by the blast wave and debris. Nearby shops, a car wash, a warehouse, and vehicles were also damaged.
“Police, emergency services, and city authorities are working at the impact sites,” the National Police added.
Earlier, at 6:04 p.m. (Kyiv time), Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported explosions in the city. Before this, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned that a bomb had been launched toward Zaporizhzhia. Fedorov later confirmed two strikes had been recorded.
