Since the beginning of the day on October 14, as of 10:00 p.m. (Kyiv time), there were 189 combat clashes at the frontline. The hottest areas today were Kurakhove, Pokrovsk, and Lyman, according to the evening report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Enemy shelling

Russian forces continue daily shelling of Ukraine. In particular, today, Russians launched one missile strike and 38 airstrikes on Ukrainian territory, dropping 67 guided bombs. Additionally, the enemy used over 400 kamikaze drones and carried out more than 2,250 shellings targeting Ukrainian military positions and civilian areas.

Frontline situation

According to the General Staff, Ukrainian forces continue to decisively repel the enemy’s attempts to advance deeper into Ukrainian territory, inflicting significant damage.

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces twice unsuccessfully assaulted Ukrainian positions near Tykhe, while their aviation struck the village of Harbuzivka with two bombs.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces conducted offensive actions near Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Kruhliakivka, Kolisnykivka, Holubivka, Petropavlivka, Lozova, and Vyshneve. Ukrainian defenders repelled 16 enemy attacks, while nine combat clashes are still ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attacked the positions of Ukrainian forces 31 times near Novoyehorivka, Novolyubivka, Hrekivka, Nevske, Terny, Yampolivka, Torske, and Zarichne. Ten clashes are still underway.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled three assaults by Russian forces near Verkhniokamianske.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces stormed Ukrainian positions near Orikhovo-Vasylivka and Diliivka. Ukrainian forces stopped all attacks.

In the Toretsk direction, three battles took place. Russians attempted to assault Ukrainian positions near Shcherbynivka, but all attacks failed.

In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the enemy attacked 38 times near Myroliubivka, Promin, Myrnohrad, Lysivka, Selydove, Hrodivka, Novotroitske, and Novopavlivka. Ukrainian defenders stopped all enemy assaults.

"Today, in this direction, according to preliminary data, about 300 Russian forces were neutralized, including 148 irreversibly. Five BMPs, four vehicles, and one motorcycle were destroyed. Four BMPs, two BMDs, and two BTRs were damaged," the General Staff reported.

In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy made 50 attempts to breach Ukrainian defenses near Izmailivka, Hirnyk, Zoriane, Kurakhivka, Tsukuryne, Novodmytrivka, Novoselydivka, Antonivka, Kostiantynivka, Katerynivka, Heorhiivka, and Vodiane. Thirty-nine clashes have been completed, and 11 are still ongoing.

"In this direction, according to preliminary data, the enemy’s losses in killed and wounded exceeded 70 personnel. Two armored fighting vehicles were also destroyed, and two tanks were damaged," the General Staff noted.

In the Vremivka and Huliaipole directions, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions but carried out airstrikes near Novodarivka and Shakhtarske.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces twice assaulted Ukrainian forces' positions near Mala Tokmachka and Novodanylivka. One clash is still ongoing.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy continues trying to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions. Throughout the day, Russian forces made eight unsuccessful assaults.

There were no significant changes in the other directions.

An operation in Russia's Kursk region is ongoing. The enemy's aviation continues bombing its own villages and towns using guided bombs.

"Today, we want to recognize the soldiers of the 118th Mechanized Brigade, the 35th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrogradskyi, the 60th Separate Mechanized Inhulets Brigade, the 79th Separate Tavrian Air Assault Brigade, and the 425th Separate Assault Battalion Skala for effectively destroying the enemy, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment," the General Staff summarized.

On October 13, the General Staff recorded 161 battles in the frontline, 39 of which were in the Kurakhove direction.

We also reported that the enemy lost 1,260 soldiers in the past day. Thus, the total Russian losses in personnel have already exceeded 670,000 soldiers.
