On the last day, 172 combat engagements were registered in the frontline. In particular, in the most difficult areas - Pokrovsk and Kurakhove, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russia continues to actively use aviation and artillery, it carried out 4 missile strikes, 72 airstrikes using 122 combat aircraft, and 1508 kamikaze drone attacks. In total, Russia conducted 4420 attacks, including 117 from MLRS.

Russia struck Kupiansk, Kramatorsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson with airstrikes. At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully struck 3 air defense systems and 6 Russian troops concentrations, destroying an Osa surface-to-air missile system.

6 battles took place in the Kharkiv sector, and Russia attacked Ukrainian positions 25 times in the Kupiansk sector. In the Lyman sector, 20 Russian attacks took place, and in the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 4 Russian attempts to break through the Ukrainian defense.

The most intense fighting continues in the Pokrovsk sector, where 26 attacks were repelled over the last day. In the Kurakhove sector, Russia tried to break through the Ukrainian defense 37 times, but without success.

Combat of varying intensity continues in other areas, particularly in the Vremivka and Orikhiv sectors. Ukrainian forces continue to repel the Russian attacks and retaliate, particularly in the Kursk region.

The situation in the Volyn and Polissia sectors remains stable, with no signs of Russian offensive groups forming.

Russian losses

Over the last day, from October 7 to 8, Russia lost 1,340 soldiers, one air defense system, and 43 drones.
