Intense fighting continues at the front, and Russia is using its superiority in manpower and equipment to attack Ukrainian positions continuously. Despite this, Ukraine's defenders are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the Russian troops, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Over the past day, 155 combat engagements were recorded. Russia launched 2 missile attacks and carried out 68 air strikes, dropping 124 guided bombs. Over 3,810 attacks were registered, including 124 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems.

The most active hostilities occurred in the Kharkiv, Kupiansk, Lyman, and Kramatorsk sectors. In the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove sectors, Ukrainian defenders repelled numerous Russian assault attacks, in particular near the settlements of Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Hirnyk and Katerynivka.

There are no signs of offensive groups forming in the Volyn and Polissia directions, but Russia is actively using artillery and aviation on the borders with Chernihiv and Sumy regions.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces also continue operations in the Kursk region. Russia launched 15 air strikes in the region, using 20 guided bombs.

Russian losses in Ukraine

On October 1, Ukrainian defenders eliminated 1,130 Russian occupants at the front. In addition, 32 armored combat vehicles and 14 Russian artillery systems were destroyed.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that Russian losses in killed and wounded since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine amounted to 500,000.
