Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 2

Since the beginning of the day on September 2, there have been 105 combat clashes on the front lines. Russian invaders continue to assault the positions of Ukrainian defenders on almost all fronts, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
Today, areas of the settlements of Slavhorod, Oleksandrivka, Bachivsk, Sopych, Sydorivka, and Tymofiivka came under fire from enemy artillery and mortars.
Additionally, Russian forces carried out airstrikes with guided bombs on Hlukhiv, Bilopillia, and Zarutske.
Situation on the frontlines
In the Kharkiv direction, there were four clashes. The enemy assaulted our defensive lines near Vovchansk, where two engagements are still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, 13 battles have taken place since the start of the day. The enemy conducted offensive operations near Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Hlushkivka, Kolisnykivka, Stelmakhivka, and Berestove. Three attacks are still ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy launched nine assaults near Hrekivka, Druzhkivka, Makiivka, and Nevske. Ukrainian defenders repelled four attacks, and five are still ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, the Defense Forces successfully halted four Russian offensives near Verkhniokamianske and Vyimka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, there were three clashes. The invaders advanced towards Kalynivka and Klishchiivka. One attack is still ongoing, but the situation is under control by our forces.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces attempted to displace our units from their positions near Toretsk, Shcherbynivka, Nelipivka, and Romanivka. Four clashes have ended, while six are still ongoing. Additionally, the aggressor's aviation launched rockets near Druzhba and dropped two guided bombs near Dachne.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy carried out 29 assault actions in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Zelene Pole, Myroliubivka, Novohrodivka, Krutyi Yar, Hrodivka, and Mykhailivka. Russian forces also conducted an airstrike on Oleksandropil. The Ukrainian Defense Forces have repelled 18 attacks, with 11 battles still ongoing. Enemy losses in this direction are being clarified.
In the Kurakhove direction, the invaders attacked 16 times near Ukrainsk, Heorhiivka, and Kostiantynivka. Fourteen attempts to advance were repelled, with two still ongoing.
In the Vremivka direction, the enemy launched 15 assaults on our positions, particularly near Vodiane, Vuhledar, and Prechystivka. Seven battles have ended, and eight are still ongoing. Additionally, the invaders struck with rockets near Kostiantynivka and Novodarivka.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions, but with the use of aviation, they carried out strikes on the areas of Novoandriivka and Mala Tokmachka.
"The operational situation on other fronts remains largely unchanged," the General Staff added.
Situation on the front and Russian losses
According to the General Staff, during the past day on September 1, there were 182 combat clashes along the front lines. The situation remains challenging. The enemy, using its advantage in manpower and equipment, continues to relentlessly attack Ukrainian positions.
Over the past day, the Russian army lost 1,300 personnel on the front lines. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost over 617,000 troops.
Additionally, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed nine tanks, 26 armored fighting vehicles, 10 artillery systems, and other enemy equipment yesterday.
