Over the last day, 144 combat engagements were registered in the frontline. The Pokrovsk direction remains the most difficult spot, where Ukrainian troops repelled 41 Russian attacks, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Russian invaders launched seven missile strikes, and 74 air strikes and fired more than 4,600 rounds of fire from various types of weapons. The attacks were aimed at the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements in Kharkiv, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted successful counterattacks, striking 3 times at Russians' concentration areas and destroying two artillery systems and two ammunition depots.

In addition to the Pokrovsk sector, active hostilities also took place on the Toretsk and Kurakhove fronts. Intense fighting also continued in other sectors.

There were 16 clashes in the Kupiansk sector, 10 in the Lyman sector, and Russian troops were defeated in the Prydniprovskyi sector after 10 attempts to attack Ukrainian positions.

There were no signs of new Russian offensive groups forming in the Volyn and Polissia sectors.

Russian losses in war against Ukraine

Over the past 24 hours, Russia lost 1,330 soldiers, 35 armored vehicles, and 59 artillery systems in the war with Ukraine.

According to analysts at the Institute for War Studies, on August 14, Russians advanced near Novoselivka Persha and Zhelanne, southeast of Pokrovsk.
