Since the beginning of the day on August 12, 80 combat engagements have taken place at the front. Russian forces continue to storm the positions of Ukrainian defenders, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Enemy shelling

According to the General Staff, the border settlements of Sumy and Chernihiv regions continue to suffer from cynical shelling from the territory of Russia. Today, the areas of Mala Slobidka, Pokrovka, Uhroidy, Boiaro-Lezhachi, and Bleshnia were hit by enemy artillery and mortar fire.

In addition, the Russian forces carried out 16 air strikes, in particular on Zapsillia, Mohrytsia, Vakalivshchyna, Hlukhiv, Vilshanka, Sinne, Velyka Rybytsia, Partyzanske, Yunakivka and Loknia.

Situation at frontline

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy launched three attacks near Tykhe and Vovchansk, where one battle is still ongoing.

In the Kupiansk direction, six combat engagements took place, in particular in the areas of Berestove, Stelmakhivka, Hlushkivka and Novoosynove. Four of them were completed, two are still ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy assaulted the positions of Ukrainian defenders 17 times near Makiivka, Nevske, Terny and Torske. Ukrainian defense forces stopped all the attacks.

Three battles took place in the Siversk direction during the day. The Russian army advanced toward Verkhniokamianske and Spirne, where it was defeated.

In the Kramatorsk direction, there were five firefights near Chasiv Yar and Bohdanivka. Two battles were completed, and three more are ongoing.

In the Toretsk direction, the Russian forces increased the number of attacks to eight - they attacked near Zalizne and Toretsk. Half of the attacks were repelled, and four more are ongoing.

In addition, the Russian army carried out 12 air strikes, dropping 22 guided bombs in the areas of Nelipivka and Toretsk.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian forces carried out assault operations in the areas of Kalynove, Sukha Balka, Yelyzavetivka, Zelene Pole, Novooleksandrivka, Hrodivka, Mykolaivka, Zhelanne and Skuchne.

Ukrainian defenders are holding back the pressure of Russian troops and repelled 19 attacks out of 25 launched by the enemy. Enemy losses in this area are being clarified.

The enemy also attacked Oleksandropol with unguided aircraft missiles.

In the Kurakhove direction, the Russian troops unsuccessfully attacked five times near Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka and Heorhiivka.

In the Vremivka direction, the enemy also assaulted the positions of Ukrainian forces near Vodiane, Kostiantynivka and Vuhledar five times. Three attacks were repelled, two are ongoing. The situation is under the control of Ukrainian troops.

In addition, the enemy used aviation to launch three guided bombs near Vodiane and launched several unguided aircraft missiles at Novodonetsk.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the Russian forces were defeated, attacking Ukrainian defensive lines on the left bank of the Dnipro River three times.

"There are no major changes in other frontline areas," the General Staff added.

Situation at the front and Russian losses

According to the General Staff, over the past day, August 11, 124 combat engagements between Ukrainian defenders and Russian forces were recorded at the front. The largest number of engagements took place in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Kramatorsk and Pokrovsk directions.

Over the past day, the Defense Forces eliminated another 1080 Russian soldiers. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost about 592,000 personnel.

Also yesterday, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 3 tanks, 5 armored combat vehicles, 65 artillery systems, 73 drones and other enemy equipment.
