Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of August 12
Over the past day, 124 combat engagements were registered on the frontline between Russian invaders and Ukrainian defenders, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russia carried out 4673 attacks, including 129 using multiple launch rocket systems, 65 air strikes, and five missile attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements, using 18 missiles.
Russia struck populated areas of Sumy, Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. However, Ukrainian troops continue to effectively resist Russian aggression.
Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation and missile forces carried out 9 strikes on Russian targets, destroying two control points, three artillery systems, an ammunition depot, and three important Russian targets.
Situation at frontline
The largest number of clashes took place in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Kramatorsk, and Pokrovsk sectors.
5 combat engagements were recorded in the Kharkiv sector, 10 Russian attacks in the Kupiansk sector, and 21 Russian attacks in the Lyman sector. The Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled Russian assaults near key localities in these areas.
The situation in the Volyn and Polissia sectors remains unchanged, with no signs of Russian offensive groups forming.
Russia continues to maintain a military presence on the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, actively using aviation and shelling border settlements.
The Ukrainian military continues to deplete Russia's offensive potential, inflicting significant losses along the entire front line and in the rear.
