As of 4 p.m. on 11 August, the number of combat engagements in the frontline increased to 65. The situation is the most difficult in the Pokrovsk and Lyman directions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian defenders note that the Russian invaders were trying to use their superiority in manpower and air support to attack the frontline. However, the Ukrainian Defence Forces continue to resolutely counteract Russia's attempts to advance deep into the territory of Ukraine and are directing their efforts to disrupt Russia's offensive.

Russian shelling

According to Ukraine's General Staff, the Russian army continues to use aviation and artillery in the border areas of the Sumy region. In particular, the areas of Zarichne, Seredyna-Buda, Porozok, Volfyne, Kruzhok, Mykhailivske, and Mykhalchyna Sloboda came under Russian artillery fire. Russia shelled Oleksandrivka with multiple rocket launchers. Russian troops also carried out air strikes on Kyianytsa, Yunakivka, and Simeikyne.

Situation at frontlines

In the Kharkiv sector, Russians stormed the positions of Ukrainian troops 3 times in the areas of Vovchansk and Tykhe. The battle is still ongoing in Vovchansk.

Russia attacked Ukrainian positions three times in the Kupiansk sector. Near Berestove and Pishchane, Russian attacks were repelled by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

In the Lyman sector, Russia attacked the areas of Makiivka, Nevske, Novosadove, and Serebryanske forestry. Since the beginning of the day, there have been 13 combat engagements in this sector, and the battle near Makiivka is still ongoing. The situation is under control.

Russia continues to try to break through the Ukrainian defenses in the Siversk sector but is met with a worthy rebuff from Ukrainian defenders. Thus, near Verkhniokamianske, Ivano-Dariivka, and Vyimka, the Russian occupants tried to push Ukrainian units 4 times, and 2 engagements are currently ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the Russian invaders carried out 6 assault operations near Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, and Klishchiivka. 2 firefights are ongoing.

The number of Russian attacks in the Toretsk sector increased to 4. Russia is trying to advance near the village of New York, where Ukrainian defenders are repelling 2 Russian attacks, and near Zalizne and Druzhba, where 2 Russian assaults have already been repelled. Russia's aviation is actively working, in particular, Russians bombed the town of Toretsk with guided aerial bombs, and Dyliivka with unguided aerial missiles.

The Pokrovsk sector witnessed the highest number of combat engagements. Since the beginning of the day, the Russian troops conducted 26 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Kalynove, Novohrodivka, Hrodivka, Zhelanne, Orlivka, and Mykolaivka. Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the onslaught and have repelled half of Russia's attacks, with thirteen battles still ongoing. Russia is most active near Zhelanne and Kalynove. Russian troops attacked Oleksandropil and Mykolaivka with unguided aerial bombs.

In the Kurakhove sector, Russia attacked Ukrainian units once since the beginning of the day. Russians tried to advance near Kostiantynivka.

In the Vremivka sector, the Russian assault on Vodiane was repelled.

In the area of Mala Tokmachka in the Orikhiv sector, Russian troops tried to advance twice unsuccessfully but were fiercely rebuffed. Russia also attacked Novoandriivka and Lobkove.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, 2 Russian attacks were unsuccessful.

Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine totaled 1,220 soldiers, 13 armored personnel carriers, 58 artillery systems, and a helicopter over the past day.

Over the past week, Russia has launched more than 30 missiles at Ukraine in 800 guided aerial bombs.
