Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of June 5
Since the beginning of the day, June 5, 38 combat engagements were registered in the frontline. Five hostile attacks continue in the Pokrovsk sector, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The Russian occupants carried out two air strikes using six combat aircraft, fired 550 times at the positions of Ukrainian troops. Russia also used 19 kamikaze drones for attacks,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Situation in sectors
In the Kharkiv sector, the battle near Vovchansk has been going on since the beginning of the day. Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to strengthen the front line of defense.
In the Lyman sector, the Russian attack was repelled in the Serebrianskyi forest. Fighting continues in the areas of Nevske and the Serebrianskyi forest.
In the Siversk sector, fighting continues. Two Russian attacks were repelled in the area of Verkhniekamianske, and fighting continues near the village of Vyimka.
The situation in the Kramatorsk sector is tense. Five combat engagements have taken place in the areas of Andriivka and Klishchiivka since the beginning of the day.
In the Toretsk sector, Russia is unsuccessfully trying to approach the positions of our troops in the area of Bila Hora.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Russians are trying to advance in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Novoselivka Persha, and Sokil. One attack was repelled, and five more are ongoing.
In the Kurakhove sector, Ukrainian troops repelled a Russian attack in the area of Heorhiivka.
In the Vremivka sector, two firefights continue near Urozhaine. Russia, supported by tanks and two armored personnel carriers, tried to break through Ukrainian defense. The battle continues.
In the Orikhiv sector, Russians tried to advance in the area of Mala Tokmachka.
In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russians are trying to push Ukrainian units out of the foothold near Krynky. The attack of the Russian invaders failed. No positions were lost.
Situation at frontline
According to analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russian invaders have recently advanced near Vovchansk in the northern part of the Kharkiv region. At the same time, Russia admitted that offensive operations have slowed down.
Over the past day, June 4, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Russia lost 1,280 personnel. In total, more than 513,000 Russian invaders have been eliminated during Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine.
