Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of May 10

Ukrainian soldiers repelled Russian attacks near Synkivka in the Kharkiv region and hit their radar station. The Russian army launched an air strike near Novohrodivka in the Donetsk region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
Over the past day, 91 combat engagements were recorded. In total, the enemy launched 6 missile and 67 air strikes, fired 92 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements.
Frontline situation
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged. No signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy is increasing its military presence in the border areas, conducting sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increasing the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine.
More than 10 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Karpovychi and Prohres in the Chernihiv region; Chernatske, Yastrubshchyna, and Ulanove in the Sumy region.
In the Slobozhanske direction, the enemy carried out 5 attacks near the settlements of Krasne, Morokhovets, Oliynykove, Hatyshche in the Kharkiv region. It carried out air strikes near the settlements of Hlyboke, Lukiantsi, Ohirtseve, Vovchansk, Vilcha, Lyptsi, Slobozhanske, Sosnovyi Bir, Ukrainske in the Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 10 attacks near Synkivka and Berestove in the Kharkiv region; Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to improve the tactical situation.
About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Petropavlivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Berestove in Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, Defense forces repelled 6 attacks in the vicinity of Makiivka, Luhansk region, and Torske, Donetsk region. Artillery and mortar shelling hit more than 10 settlements, including Nevske in the Luhansk region; Terny, Yampolivka, Torske in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 17 attacks near the towns of Bilohorivka in Luhansk region; Verkhniokamianske, Rozdolivka, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Kalynivka, Klishchiyivka and Andriivka in Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of air power, tried to improve the tactical situation.
The enemy also conducted air strikes near Druzhba and Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region. Over 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Hryhorivka and Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 22 attacks in the areas of Kalynove, Novooleksandrivka, Sokil, Umanske in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to force Ukrainian units out of their positions.
The enemy also carried out air strikes near the settlements of Stara Mykolayivka, Novohrodivka, Novopokrovske, Netailove in the Donetsk region. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Novooleksandrivka, Sokil, Novopokrovske, and Umanske in the Donetsk region.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Defense forces continue to hold back the enemy near Krasnohorivka, southwest of Novomykhailivka and Solodke in the Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops 3 times.
More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Krasnohorivka, Maksymilianivka, and Heorhiivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders 8 times in the vicinity of Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Bilohiria, Robotyne, and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy did not conduct any offensive actions during the day. About 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Krynky, Tyahynyka, Kachkarivka, Kizomys, and Stanislav in the Kherson region.
Enemy losses
During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces and units of the missile forces struck 1 anti-aircraft missile system, 1 radar station, and 17 areas of concentration of enemy personnel.
The total number of Russian army losses since the beginning of the invasion is 479,710.
