Russia is preparing a draft document for Ukraine outlining its conditions for peace. The document is expected to be handed over after the completion of the 1,000-for-1,000 prisoner exchange, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, according to Interfax.

According to him, Russia is actively working on the second part of its agreements with Ukraine, which involves preparing a draft document outlining the conditions for achieving a "stable, long-term, and comprehensive settlement."

"As soon as the prisoner exchange is completed, we will be ready to hand over to the Ukrainian side a draft of this document, which the Russian side is now finalizing," the official from the aggressor state added.

He also noted that Russia is finalizing the list for the prisoner exchange with Ukraine.

Lavrov added that Moscow is supposedly committed to the agreements recently reached in Istanbul during talks between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations.

The Russian minister also stated that the Russian Federation "remains committed to a peaceful resolution" and is "always open to negotiations."

Putin's memorandum

A few days ago, Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed that Russia was supposedly willing to work on a memorandum with Ukraine outlining "principles for a settlement, timelines for a possible peace agreement, and the potential for a temporary ceasefire."

However, on May 23, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Russia has been unable to produce its ceasefire memorandum for a week, while people continue to die every day.
