Russia to involve students in making drones during school classes in occupied territories
Students in occupied territories will be required to study information about drones and subsequently build them during labor classes, according to the National Resistance Center of Ukraine (NRC).
According to NRC, textbooks on Unmanned Aerial Systems will be delivered to temporarily occupied territories in Ukraine by the end of the first academic quarter. These textbooks, published by the Russian drone manufacturer Geoscan and the publishing house Prosveshchenie, are part of a federal project.
"The manual was created to implement the federal project Personnel for the UAVs. The federal project Personnel for UAVs is part of the Kremlin’s project to develop unmanned aerial systems," the NRC states.
The textbook includes information on drone classification and construction, basic manual piloting, design, and applications of UAVs, including military uses.
"It is expected that students will make drones in practical classes.," the NRC notes.
The NRC highlighted that each region of Russia, including the so-called new (occupied) territories, will receive approximately 301 million rubles for purchasing equipment for lessons on developing, manufacturing, and operating FPV drones.
"The involvement of children in the production of combat drones is a gross violation of international law and another indication of the cynicism of the Kremlin’s military machine. An entire generation of Ukrainian youth is being drawn into the process of militarization, creating the impression that the war brought to our land by Putin’s Russia is the norm," the NRC concluded.
It is also noted that Russia is recruiting students from the temporarily occupied Starobilsk in the Luhansk region to fight against Ukraine. Leaflets are being distributed in one of the schools, promising money and a social package to those who sign a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense.
