Russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia overnight on October 12. As a result of the shelling, three people were injured in the city, with hits recorded on civilian infrastructure and an industrial facility, according to Ivan Fedorov, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.

According to an official, during the night attack on Zaporizhzhia, Russians targeted private residential buildings and the production facilities of one of the city's enterprises.

"Preliminarily, three people have been injured," he said in his Telegram post.

The head of the regional military administration added that medics had provided the necessary assistance to the victims.

State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) published photos showing the aftermath of the Russian airstrikes on Zaporizhzhia. According to emergency workers, one person was injured on October 12, and a private house was utterly destroyed as a result of the attack.

"Rescue operations are still ongoing, and the number of victims is being clarified," the SES reported.

Additionally, emergency workers stated that a fire at a warehouse and workshop facility covering an area of 15 square meters had been extinguished. The airstrikes damaged the facades and windows of nearby buildings.

The SES added that 34 rescuers and 6 pieces of equipment have been deployed to address the aftermath. Police, bomb disposal experts, and Red Cross volunteers are also on the scene.

A little later, the emergency service added that, according to updated data, there were three victims in Zaporizhzhia, including a 12-year-old girl.

Earlier reports indicated explosions were heard in Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding region overnight. Before this, Russian forces had launched guided aerial bombs in this area, including the regional center.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Air Force warned of multiple threats of enemy airstrikes on the Zaporizhzhia region throughout the night and into the morning.

It should also be noted that on October 7, an earlier Russian airstrike in Zaporizhzhia damaged infrastructure facilities and left three employees of those sites injured.
