Russia strikes vital energy facility in Ukraine's Kherson region

On June 27, Russian troops attacked an important energy facility in the Kherson region. The authorities urged residents to prepare for prolonged power outages, according to the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
"On the eve of Ukraine's Constitution Day, Russians decided to plunge the Kherson region into darkness by attacking an important energy facility," the statement said.
Russian attack caused large-scale problems with the power supply, and some communities were left without electricity. Experts have rushed to the scene and are trying to assess the extent of the damage.
"I ask the residents of the region to prepare for a prolonged power outage. Power engineers are doing everything possible to stabilize the situation," adds the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
Russian strikes on Kherson
Kherson and its neighboring settlements are under fire every day due to their proximity to the front line. The city and the region are regularly subjected to artillery and air strikes, drone attacks, and bombing, especially in the frontline areas, where the distance to the occupied left bank of the Dnipro River is only a few kilometers.
For example, on June 26, in Kherson, Russian drones deliberately attacked private buildings in the Korabelnyi district.
On June 23, the Russian army struck at the critical infrastructure of Kherson and damaged the gas network.
On the night of June 21, the city's central district came under Russian fire. Apartment buildings were damaged: windows were smashed, balconies, roofs, and facades were damaged.
Before that, 12 people in Kherson were hit by Russian drones. All of them were injured and sent to the hospital.
