New level of Russian terror: Drones set fire to dozens of houses in Kherson

Russia continues to escalate its campaign of terror against civilians in southern Ukraine. On June 26, Russian army drones deliberately targeted residential areas in the Korabelnyi district of Kherson, said Yaroslav Shanko, head of the Kherson City Military Administration.
"Russian terror has reached a new level in the Kherson community. The occupiers are now trying to burn down as much as they can," Shanko noted.
He said that throughout the day, Russian drones attacked private houses in the Korabelnyi district.
"The fire spread rapidly, engulfing a large area within minutes. About a dozen houses were burning at the same time," the City Military Administration head added.
According to him, social workers from the Kherson administration arrived at the scene along with firefighters.
"They had to battle the flames and provide necessary assistance," he explained.
Earlier this week, Russia shelled Kherson's district with artillery. Four local residents were injured in that attack.
According to Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Russian forces have used nearly 6,000 cluster munitions against Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion. These weapons are often used against civilian targets.
The ministry emphasized that such attacks on cities, including Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kherson, Chuhuiv, Dobropillia, Okhtyrka, Zatoka, as well as the territories of the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Luhansk regions, have already resulted in numerous civilian casualties, including children.
They have also caused widespread destruction of residential buildings, hospitals, schools, and critical infrastructure.
