Russia strikes Ukrainian energy sector despite 'truce'

Russian troops damaged a DTEK power plant in the Dnipropetrovsk region on April 17. And this despite the agreement on an energy "truce", according to the DTEK energy company.
"This morning (April 17, - ed.) Russia attacked the DTEK production site in the Dnipropetrovsk region with drones," the company said in a statement.
The buildings and equipment suffered serious damage.
"Fortunately, no employees were injured," DTEK stated.
Currently, experts are doing everything possible to ensure that the Dnipropetrovsk region's electricity supply is uninterrupted.
Energy truce
Ukraine and Russia, mediated by the United States, agreed to stop attacks on energy and port infrastructure. The so-called truce came into effect on March 25.
However, shortly after that, Russia violated the agreements by striking energy system facilities in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kherson regions.
Russian occupiers invented a fake story about alleged attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on energy facilities in Russia. The Ukrainian Defense Forces do not violate the established "energy truce" unlike Russians.
During the 22 days of the so-called energy truce, Russian troops killed almost 2.5 times more Ukrainians than during the same period before its announcement.
