Russia strikes Ukraine with drones and Iskanders: Air defense response detailed

In the night of November 16, Russia once again attacked Ukraine, using an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 176 strike drones, according to the Ukrainian Air Force Telegram.
According to the military, the Russians launched one Iskander-M ballistic missile from Rostov region and 176 strike drones of the Shahed and Gerbera types, as well as drones of other types, from the directions of Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and Chauda in Crimea, with about 100 of them being Shaheds.
The air attack was repelled by Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, drone units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Preliminary data as of 09:00 indicate that air defense systems had shot down or suppressed 139 enemy drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types in the north, south, and east of the country.
At the same time, 37 strike drones hit 14 locations, and wreckage from downed drones fell at two other locations.
"The attack continues, with new groups of enemy drones in the airspace. Follow safety rules!" the Air Force emphasized.
Shelling of Ukraine
As a reminder, Russian forces on the night of November 16 again attacked civilian infrastructure and energy facilities in Odesa region, damaging a solar power plant.
During the day on November 15, Russians attacked Zaporizhzhia district with an FPV drone. Local fishermen near the village of Bilenke were affected: one person was killed, and another was injured.
Additionally, the Russians attacked a key energy facility in Nizhyn district, leaving a significant part of Chernihiv region without electricity.
On the night of November 15, Russian forces also targeted Dnipro and the surrounding region with strike drones, causing fires, damaging enterprises, and injuring one person.
