Russia strikes Ukraine with 70 drones and 4 missiles overnight: Air defense's work reported
On the night of September 20, Russia attacked Ukraine with 4 missiles and 70 Shahed drones. Ukrainian air defense destroyed over 60 drones, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Last night, Russia attacked Ukraine with:
- 3 missiles of unidentified type, which were launched at Donetsk region;
- Kh-59 guided missile, which was launched from the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region at Dnipropetrovsk region;
- 70 drones were launched from the territories of Russian Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk, and Yeysk.
Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare units destroyed 61 drones and 1 Kh-59 guided missile.
In particular, 9 Russian drones were lost in several regions of Ukraine. No information on casualties or damage has been received so far.
Ukrainian air defense was operating in:
- Kyiv region
- Dnipropetrovsk region
- Vinnytsia region
- Cherkasy region
- Sumy regions and beyond.
Russian night attacks on Ukraine
In recent months, Russia has been launching night attacks against Ukraine almost daily. For example, on the night of September 19, Ukrainian air defense destroyed another 42 UAVs and a guided missile, and 46 Shahed drones on September 18.
Also, since the beginning of the year, Russia has already carried out 9 massive attacks against Ukraine's energy sector, which resulted in the return of blackout schedules to consumers this summer.
