Russia strikes Kharkiv region with missiles and drones: Ukrainian air defense's work reported
On the night of September 19, the Ukrainian Air Force detected 46 Russian drones. Russia attacked the Kharkiv region, according to the Air Force of Ukraine.
Russia attacked the Kharkiv region with S-300/S-400 missiles launched from the Belgorod region, one Kh-59/69 missile from the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region, and 42 Shahed attack drones from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Kursk regions.
Thanks to the coordinated work of Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, mobile firing groups, and electronic warfare units, all 42 Russian attack drones were shot down, as well as the Kh-59/69 guided missile in the eastern direction.
Ukrainian air defenses were operating in Dnipro, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions.
Russian night drone attack
On the evening of September 18, the Ukrainian Air Force recorded the launch of kamikaze drones by the Russian troops, which led to the announcement of an air alert in several regions of Ukraine.
At around 2:20 a.m., information appeared about the operation of Ukrainian air defense in the Kyiv region due to the detection of Russian Shaheds.
In addition, around midnight, explosions were heard in Kharkiv during an air raid alert, and Russian missile attacks were recorded.
According to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Russia struck the Shevchenkivskyi district which, previously, the open territory. The mayor said that a fire broke out at the site of the hit, and the Russian strikes hit the forest belt of the Shevchenkivskyi district.
