As of 8 a.m., Ukrainian air defense forces had destroyed or intercepted 228 Russian drones in the north, south, and east of Ukraine.
27 Russian attack drones still reached their targets, hits were recorded at 18 locations. Debris from downed drones fell at 12 additional locations.
Russian attack continues as drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.
In late May, Ukraine received a new launcher for the IRIS-T air defense missile system from Germany. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Berlin but emphasized that the country is critically short of missiles for its air defense systems.
Ukrainian Air Force spokesperson Colonel Yurii Ihnat stated that there was an acute shortage of ammunition for the Patriot, NASAMS, and IRIS-T systems. According to him, the launchers in the units are half-empty, and negotiators are forced to beg for literally just a few missiles at a time.
