Russia strikes Ukraine with 229 drones overnight: Air defense work reported

On the night of July 29, Russia attacked Ukraine with 229 strike drones from various directions. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down most of the Russian drones, but some hit their targets, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
Last night, the Russians launched an attack using 80 Shahed-type strike drones (including jet-powered ones), Gerbera and Italmas drones, Banderol loitering munitions, and Parodiya-type decoy drones from the following directions: Oryol, Kursk, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia; temporarily occupied Donetsk; and Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea.
According to preliminary data, as of 8 a.m. Kyiv time, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or neutralized 65 Russian drones in the north, south, and east of the country.
14 Russian drone attacks were recorded at 10 locations, and debris from downed drones was found at 2 locations.
"Russian attack is ongoing; Russian drones are in Ukrainian airspace. Follow safety guidelines!" the Air Force warns.
Russian attacks on Ukraine
On the night of July 28, Russia attacked Ukraine with 131 attack drones. Ukrainian air defense neutralized most of the targets, but some hits were recorded.
On the afternoon of July 28, Russia struck the Mykolaiv region with Shaheds, Banderols, and guided aerial bombs. As a result of the combined Russian attack, there is damage to the local port and a nearby industrial facility. People were injured.
Also, yesterday the Russians carried out an airstrike on State Emergency Service of Ukraine rescuers in the Zaporizhzhia region. This happened while firefighters were trying to contain a fire.
