Russia strikes Ukraine's firefighters battling blaze in Zaporizhzhia: Casualties reported

On July 28, Russians carried out an airstrike against State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) rescuers in the Zaporizhzhia region. This occurred while firefighters were attempting to contain a fire, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
This time, Russians attacked rescue workers who were operating in the Zaporizhzhia district.
Russia struck at the very moment when firefighters were trying to extinguish the fire.
"While fighting a fire in an open area of one of the region’s forest districts, the enemy launched a drone strike against firefighters who were performing their duties," the State Emergency Service states.

According to the latest reports, four rescue workers were injured in the Russian attack. Each of them suffered acoustic trauma.
Furthermore, two of them sustained minor shrapnel wounds: one rescue worker was injured in the arms, and the other in the neck.
The State Emergency Service adds that physicians provided all the injured with the necessary medical care.

"Russia continues to destroy civilian infrastructure and deliberately attack State Emergency Service units, violating all norms of international humanitarian law," the statement reads.
Additionally, Russia attacked Sumy with guided aerial bombs: half of the victims are children.
