Russia strikes Ukraine with 216 drones overnight: Air defense's work reported

Overnight, Russia launched over 200 drones at Ukraine. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down nearly all of them, but the attack is still ongoing, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
216 drones in a night
From the evening of May 11 to the morning of May 12, Russia attacked Ukraine with 216 strike drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas models, as well as Parodya decoy drones.
The launches were carried out from several directions:
- Bryansk, Shatalovo, Kursk, Orel, from the Russian side
- Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, also from Russian territory
- Temporarily occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske.
192 shot down and neutralized
According to preliminary data as of 9:30 a.m., Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or neutralized 192 Russian drones in the north, south, east, and center of Ukraine.
Ukrainian Defense Forces' aviation repelled the Russian attack, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups.
25 drones were recorded hitting 10 locations. Debris from downed drones fell at 5 additional locations.
As of this morning, up to 10 Russian drones remain in the airspace.
Last night, as a result of a Russian attack in the Kyiv region, a drone struck a kindergarten. In Kyiv, debris from a downed drone fell on a 16-story residential building. There are casualties in several regions as a result of the Russian attack.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia had decided to end the partial ceasefire, and Ukraine will respond in kind to all of Russia’s actions.
