Russia strikes Ukraine with 2 ballistic missiles and 93 drones overnight

On the night of August 20, Russia launched a combined strike on Ukrainian territory, using ballistic missiles and strike drones, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
At around 7:30 p.m. on August 19, Russia launched 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the temporarily occupied Crimea, as well as 93 Shahed strike drones and drone simulators from various directions—the Bryansk and Rostov regions of Russia, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Chauda of Crimea.
Ukrainian aircraft, air defense units, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups, and unmanned systems were used to repel the Russian air attack.
As of 9 a.m. on August 20, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or suppressed one of the 2 ballistic missiles and 62 Russian drones.
At the same time, Russian hits were recorded in 20 locations.
The Ukrainian military notes that Russian attacks of this scale are aimed at exhausting the Ukrainian air defense system and intimidating the civilian population.
Russian attack on Ukraine
On the night of August 20, Russia launched a massive drone strike on the city of Okhtyrka in the Sumy region. Over 10 people are known to have been injured, including children.
In addition, Russia struck Izmail in the Odesa region with drones. Russian strikes caused a large fire, and one person is known to have been injured.
