Russia’s drones target Okhtyrka: Dozens of casualties, including kids

On the night of August 20, the enemy carried out a massive drone strike on the city of Okhtyrka in the Sumy region. This cynical attack was once again aimed at the civilian population, according to the Sumy Region Police.
During the night, the city of Okhtyrka in the Sumy region suffered a massive strike by Russian drones.
The attacks damaged an apartment building, 13 private homes, an outbuilding, and a garage.
Investigative teams and police explosives experts immediately arrived at the scene. They thoroughly inspected the area, documented the aftermath of the strike, collected physical evidence, and provided assistance to the victims.
In total, 12 people were injured in the attack, including two children.
“Once again, Russian forces have demonstrated their cynical disregard for the lives and safety of civilians by deliberately targeting residential areas,” the police stated.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated for all incidents under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – war crimes.
Russian attacks on the Sumy region
On the night of August 20, Russian strike drones targeted the private sector in the Okhtyrka community, causing fires at the impact sites.
Local Telegram channels reported over 20 explosions.
Previously, on the night of August 18, four strike drones hit civilian infrastructure in the community, resulting in a fire at a non-residential building.
Additionally, on August 15, Russian forces attacked a market in central Sumy with a drone.
