Massive fire after Russian strike on Odesa region, special train deployed

Russian forces attacked Izmail in the Odesa region overnight on August 20 with strike drones. The attack caused a large fire, and one person was reported injured, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) and Oleh Kiper, Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, report.
“In Izmail, infrastructure facilities and industrial buildings were damaged. Fires broke out at the scene, which our firefighters promptly extinguished,” Kiper said.
According to the Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, one man was injured and is receiving all necessary medical assistance.
“As a result of the strikes, a large-scale fire broke out at an energy infrastructure facility. Fifty-four rescuers and 16 units of equipment were involved in eliminating the consequences of the Russian attack. A firefighting train from Ukrzaliznytsia was also deployed,” the SES reported.

Russian forces continue massive drone and missile strikes against port and industrial infrastructure in the Odesa region.
On the night of August 18, explosions were heard in Odesa as Russian troops launched a large-scale drone attack on the city from several directions.
Earlier, on the night of July 16, the Russian forces attacked the Izmail district of the Odesa region with drones. At that time, an infrastructure facility was damaged and a fire broke out.
