Explosions can be heard in Odesa. Russian forces are carrying out a massive attack on the city with Shahed strike drones, simultaneously from different directions, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov, and Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Oleh Kiper.

At 23:32, Kiper reported that the Russians were attacking the city with strike drones.

“Odesa and the district, stay in shelters!” he noted.

At 23:40, Trukhanov reported explosions in the city. Before that, he had warned of the threat of strikes on the Peresyp district and the central part of Odesa.

At 23:42, the Air Force reported that a large number of Shahed drones were approaching the city. Residents were advised to take shelter.

A drone strike threat was also announced for the Odesa district.

At 23:48, the military reported the threat of shelling in the villages of Velyka Balka and Nerubaiske, north of Odesa.

At 23:50, the Air Force warned of possible strikes on the settlements of Radisne and Velykyi Dalnyk, west of the regional center.

Monitoring channels reported that about 18 drones were approaching the city.

The air raid alert has been lifted in the Odesa region.

Russian air strikes

On the evening of August 17, Russian forces almost simultaneously launched ballistic missile strikes on Sumy, Kharkiv, and Pavlohrad. Residential infrastructure in the cities was damaged, and many people were injured.

Earlier on Sunday, the Russian forces dropped high-explosive aerial bombs on a village in the Zaporizhzhia region. As a result of the attack, a teenager was killed, and there were other fatalities.

In Kostiantynivka, the aggressor shelled rescuers who had arrived to extinguish a fire at the site of a previous strike.
