Russia strikes Ukraine with 140 drones overnight: Air defense's work reported

On the night of February 13, Russia launched 140 Shahed unmanned aerial vehicles and imitation drones at Ukraine. The drones were attacked from five directions, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russia launched the drones from the directions of the Russian cities of Orel, Kursk, Bryansk, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine were involved in repelling the Russian attack.
As of 9 a.m. Kyiv time, 85 Russian Shahed drones and other types of drones were confirmed to have been shot down in Kharkiv, Sumy, Cherkasy, Poltava, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, and several other regions.
Another 52 Russian imitator drones were lost locally without any negative consequences.
Odesa and Kharkiv regions were attacked by Russia.
Russian strikes on Ukraine
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has been regularly launching missile, air, and artillery strikes on Ukraine. Russian attacks have targeted both military objectives and civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings, hospitals, schools, and energy facilities.
Russia uses a wide range of weapons for its attacks: ballistic and cruise missiles, Iranian Shahed kamikaze drones, artillery, and aircraft.
For example, on the night of February 12, Russians fired 7 ballistic missiles and 123 drones at Ukraine. At the same time, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 6 Russian missiles and 71 drones.
