Russian forces attacked Ukraine with strike drones from several directions overnight. Most of the Russian targets were destroyed by air defense forces, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

"On the night of April 9, Russia launched an attack with 119 strike drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types from Bryansk, Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk directions of Russia, Hvardiiske of the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, and Donetsk; about 70 of them were Shaheds," Ukrainian Air Force notes.

Russian air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare, and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 8 a.m. Kyiv time, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or neutralized 99 Russian Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types of drones in the north, south, and east of Ukraine.

At the same time, 16 strike drones were recorded hitting 11 locations, and downed Russian targets were found at four locations.

"Russian attack is ongoing; there are several Russian drones in Ukrainian airspace. Follow safety guidelines," the Ukrainian Air Force emphasizes.

Russian troops attacked many regions on the night of April 9. Late last night, Russia struck one of the substations in the Odesa region, which has been under constant attack. As a result of the Russian strikes, the power facility’s equipment sustained significant damage.

In addition, on the morning of April 9, Russians struck Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding area. Powerful explosions were heard in the city, and smoke rose above it.
