Russian forces attacked Nikopol with a strike drone. As a result of the attack, 11 people were injured, according to the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Hanzha.
According to Oleksandr Hanzha, the FPV drone attack damaged five-story residential buildings and shops in the city. A car was also destroyed by fire.
"Three people have been hospitalized. A 16-year-old girl and a 28-year-old woman are in serious condition. A 25-year-old victim is in moderate condition," Hanzha added.
He emphasized that medics are providing all necessary assistance to the injured.
Attacks on Nikopol
Russian forces strike Nikopol almost daily, as the city is located on the bank of the Dnipro River.
Due to the relatively short distance from enemy positions, the city is targeted with both FPV drones and guided aerial bombs.
Back in 2024, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD), Andriy Kovalenko, reported that Russia was using attacks on Nikopol to train its FPV drone operators.
Ukraine’s Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said that Russian forces are effectively "hunting" civilians in Nikopol as part of basic combined-arms training, practicing the use of drones and artillery.
In January, Russian forces struck an apartment building in Nikopol using artillery.
