On the night of March 31, Russian drones struck Poltava. A sports arena was hit — a venue that hosts mini-football competitions and serves as a training ground for a children's sports school, states a school coach, Dmytro Mylko.
The strike hit the GRL Arena, a sports facility in Poltava. The field and the venue's infrastructure were damaged.
The arena regularly hosted mini-football tournaments, including the traditional Amateur Best Football Fest. It was also home to the youth sports school “Mylko School,” whose students trained at this very ground.
Not the first strike on the city's sports infrastructure
This is not the first attack on sports facilities in Poltava. In January 2026, drones damaged the Molodizhnyi Stadium.

That facility has since been repaired — a football match was recently played there, the first since its restoration.
Today, Russian forces also struck Chuhuiv in the Kharkiv region. After police arrived at the site of the initial shelling, occupying forces launched a second strike, deliberately targeting law enforcement officers.
As a result of the attack, three police officers and two civilian women were injured; one of the women was hospitalized with a severe traumatic brain injury.
In the morning, Russia also attacked the railway station in Sloviansk. Three railway workers were injured in that strike.
