Russia strikes Ukraine's Cherkasy region with drones, killing 4 people

On the afternoon of April 1, four people were killed in the Cherkasy region as a result of a Russian drone strike. The tragedy occurred in an open area during an air raid alert, according to Ihor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration.
According to him, a Russian drone caused irreparable damage in the Zolotonosha district of the Cherkasy region.
"We have four fatalities. This happened in an open area during an air raid alert. Law enforcement is currently investigating all the circumstances. The investigation is ongoing," Taburets says.
The head of the Regional Military Administration also emphasizes that Russia attack is ongoing. Residents of the region are urged not to ignore air raid sirens and to take immediate shelter.
Citizens are also warned not to approach downed aerial targets or their debris, as they may pose a deadly danger due to the risk of detonation.
If suspicious objects are found, it is necessary to immediately notify emergency responders or the police by calling 101 or 102.
Russian attack on Ukraine on April 1
On the night of April 1, Russian Shahed drones launched a massive attack on Ukrainian cities. Explosions were heard in Lutsk, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Mykolaiv, and Kryvyi Rih.
Russia destroyed a Nova Poshta terminal in Lutsk. A hit on a grocery warehouse belonging to one of the retail chains was also recorded, and a high-rise building was damaged by drone debris.
After the Russian strikes, fires broke out in the city, and heavy smoke was observed.
In Khmelnytskyi, a fire also broke out following a Russian drone attack. According to the Regional Military Administration, an industrial facility was damaged.
Following a massive Russian nighttime attack, Russia again launched hundreds of Shaheds, which are moving toward western Ukraine and attacking central regions.
Russian drones have been spotted in the Ternopil, Chernivtsi, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Zakarpattia regions.
Explosions were also heard in the resort town of Bukovel. There are reports of partial power outages in the Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
The attack is ongoing, and Russian forces are launching new waves of attack drones.
