Russia strikes Sumy with guided aerial bomb: 2 killed, including child
Russian troops conducted an air strike in the Sumy region. Two brothers, aged 6 and 23, were killed, according to the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office and the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Artiukh.
According to the investigation, on August 8, at about 11 a.m., using methods of warfare prohibited by international law, Russia launched an air strike on the civilian infrastructure of the Yunakivska community of Sumy district.
"As a result of the Russian attack, 6-year-old and 23-year-old brothers were killed," the prosecutor's office says.
According to the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Artiukh, Russians shelled the village of Mohrytsia. The Russians attacked the village with guided aerial bombs. According to him, the victims were in the yard of the school, which was also destroyed by the airfield.
Under the procedural supervision of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation is being conducted into the violation of the laws and customs of war combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Situation in Sumy region
In Sumy, kindergartens have been switched to remote work for the next few days, and hospitals have been restricted. The region is under constant Russian shelling.
For several days now, fighting has been taking place on the border of Sumy and Kursk regions. In particular, clashes are already taking place on the territory of Sudzha, Kursk region, and Russian troops have lost control of the roads around the city. Russians also complain that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have allegedly already approached the village of Korenevo.
