Russia strikes Shostka in Sumy region overnight, damaging infrastructure and injuring seven
In the night of October 19, Russia attacked Shostka in the Sumy region. Energy and infrastructure facilities were damaged, seven people were injured, and there are power outages, reports the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
On the night of October 18-19, Russian forces launched an airstrike on the Shostka community, using KAB bombs and Shahed drones, according to the report.
As a result of the enemy attack, seven people were injured, preliminary reports indicate.
"Energy and infrastructure facilities have been damaged. Several settlements in Shostka have been left without power. All necessary services are working at the impact sites," the Regional Military Administration stated.
At the same time, electricity supply has been partially restored, but work is ongoing.
Russian attacks on Ukraine
During the night of October 19, air raid alerts were issued in Kyiv and several regions due to drones launched by Russia against Ukraine once again. In particular, air defense systems were active in Kyiv.
Later, it became known that on the night of October 19, Russian invaders attempted to attack Kyiv again with drones. Air defense forces shot down all UAVs; however, debris from the drones damaged vehicles and the facade of a building, resulting in additional injuries.
In the morning, alarms were also raised across Ukraine due to missile threats, with explosions reported in Cherkasy.
