Kyiv officials report on aftermath of Russian nighttime attack on capital
On the night of October 19, Russian forces again attempted to strike Kyiv with drones. Air defense forces intercepted all the UAVs, but debris from the drones damaged vehicles and the facade of a building, resulting in injuries, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration.
Serhii Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, clarified that the air raid alert in the capital lasted over three and a half hours. Ukrainian defense forces neutralized all drones that posed a threat to the city. However, this time, casualties were reported.
Specifically, as a result of the nighttime attack by Russia on Kyiv, the facade of a building in the Dniprovskyi district sustained damage. A young woman suffered severe injuries to her lower limb.
Additionally, debris damaged parked vehicles in the Darnytskyi district, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.
“I urge all Kyiv residents to heed air raid alerts and always seek shelter in case of danger. Take care of yourselves,” Popko emphasized at the end of his statement.
It is worth noting that as of the publication of this news in the morning, air raid alerts were again declared in Kyiv and are still ongoing. The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that this alert is linked to missile threats. However, unofficial sources, including local Telegram channels, indicate that Russian drones continue to fly over the capital.
