Russia strikes residential buildings in Sumy with drones: 3 killed, including child
On the night of October 22, the Russian army conducted an air strike using Shahed dromes on a private residential sector in Sumy. 3 people were killed, according to the Sumy Regional State Administration.
“Three people, including one child, were killed as a result of a nighttime Russian drone attack on private sector residential buildings in Sumy,” the statement says.
Russians continue to shell Sumy. In the morning, Russia attacked a residential apartment building and critical infrastructure facilities. The consequences of the morning attack are being clarified.
The regional state administration reported that on October 22, Ukrainian anti-aircraft gunners shot down Russian Shaheds in the sky over the Sumy region.
“Anti-aircraft battles continue,” the press service adds.
During the Russian air attack on October 22, explosions were heard in the private sector in Sumy.
Ukraine is developing a drone capable of intercepting Russian Iranian-made kamikaze drones. It will be used to pursue and intercept Shahed-136s instead of conventional air defense systems to protect Ukrainian cities from Russian shelling.
