On the afternoon of Tuesday, June 3, the Russian army attacked rescue workers in the Zaporizhzhia region while they were extinguishing a fire, according to the State Emergency Service (SES) of Ukraine.

According to the State Emergency Service, the rescue workers extinguishing a fire in one of the villages of the Vasylivka district came under enemy fire. Preliminary reports indicate that no personnel were injured.

As a result of the attack, a fire truck was damaged.

Later, the State Emergency Service (SES) clarified that the Russian forces deliberately carried out a second strike on the rescue workers. As a result, the SES vehicle was completely destroyed by fire.

"The bloody terror continues. Yesterday, Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko warned about intensified attacks on the Rescue Service, and today the enemy again cynically targets those who save lives," the agency reminded.

Russian strike on firefighters

Yesterday, the Russian army attacked a fire and rescue station in one of the frontline settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region using FPV drones.

According to the State Emergency Service, the rescuers were in shelter at the time, yet 4 people were injured as a result of the strike.

Later, it was reported that the number of injured had risen to 12.

On the night of June 1, the Russian army launched a record number of drones against Ukraine — 472 units. The Russian forces attacked Ukraine with seven missiles, including ballistic ones.
