Russian army FPV drones attacked a fire and rescue unit in one of the frontline settlements of the Zaporizhzhia region, according to the head of Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine says the personnel were in a shelter. However, despite this, 4 rescuers were injured in the strike, and 8 more are being examined. They are being provided with all necessary medical and psychological assistance.

First, Russians struck at the firefighters' unit. And while the injured were being evacuated to the staging area, Russian troops opened fire again.

2 fire trucks carrying the injured and all the personnel of the unit came under Russian fire.

"This is another example of deliberate and targeted Russian attacks against rescuers - people who save the lives of others every day, risking their own," the SESU said.

According to Fedorov, Russia struck Ukrainian firefighters with FPV drones. 4 wounded SESU employees were hospitalized.

"Doctors assess the condition of the 48-year-old rescuer as severe. The men aged 49, 38, and 50 are in moderate condition. They are receiving the necessary medical care," Fedorov wrote.
