Russian drones attacked railway infrastructure in the Zhytomyr region overnight. A woman was killed in the strike, according to Vitalii Bunechko, head of Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration.

Russia struck the region's civilian transport infrastructure.

Rescue workers, repair crews, and law enforcement officers are already on the scene.

One casualty has been confirmed so far—a woman was killed as a result of the Russian strike. The Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration has not reported any possible injuries.

Details regarding the extent of the damage are being clarified.

Russia strikes Ukrainian railways

Strikes on railway infrastructure are no coincidence. As reported by RBC-Ukraine, as early as the beginning of April, Russian propaganda spread a false claim that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were allegedly using civilian trains for military purposes.

Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation explains that this was an attempt to justify the systematic strikes on the railway, which in reality transports ordinary passengers.

Meanwhile, Russian strikes on the Ukrainian railway continue. On April 13, as reported by RBC-Ukraine, Russia struck railway infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk region. A commuter train was stopped in time, and about 500 passengers were evacuated.

After that, a drone struck near the locomotive of a freight train. No one was injured thanks solely to the quick response of railway workers.
