Russia struck one of Naftogaz’s key facilities in the Kharkiv region with drones and missiles, according to Serhii Koretskyi, chairman of the board of Naftogaz of Ukraine.

Russia first attacked the facility with drones and then launched a second strike with missiles about an hour later.

"This is a deliberate tactic of terror. This is how the Russians are trying to inflict maximum damage not only on infrastructure but also on the people who are rescuing, repairing, and restoring it. It was precisely this tactic that led to tragic consequences on the night of May 5, when our colleagues and State Emergency Service of Ukraine rescuers were killed," Koretskyi notes.

He explains that following the tragic events in May, the company reviewed its safety protocols and strengthened response procedures during the cleanup of Russian attack sites to minimize risks to employees.

"Adapting to these realities, we have implemented stricter safety protocols to minimize the threat to our employees. I thank my colleagues for drawing the necessary conclusions, and this time there were no casualties," states the chairman of the board of Naftogaz.

Currently, relevant services are working at the sites of the Russian strikes, and the extent of the damage is being assessed.

On the night of June 2, Russians carried out a massive missile and drone attack on Ukraine. 13 people were killed, and over 100 were injured.
