On the night of June 2, Russia carried out a massive combined strike on Ukraine. Several cities came under fire, and in each of them damage, destruction, and casualties have been reported.
RBC-Ukraine reports everything known so far.
Key takeaways:
- The enemy used drone swarms, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles for the attacks;
- At least Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia came under fire;
- In Kyiv, residential and other sectors were damaged, three people died and 29 were injured;

What the Russians used to attack
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, after 9:00 pm Kyiv time, the Russians began launching entire groups of drones toward various cities of Ukraine.
At the same time, closer to the start of the new day, Russian forces began a missile attack. First, the enemy launched Kalibr cruise missiles from the Caspian Sea, and simultaneously sent strategic bombers Tu-160 and Tu-95MS into the air.
The enemy attack came in several waves. After 1:10 am, Kalibr missiles were over Ukraine, followed shortly after by missiles likely from Tu-160 aircraft. Toward the morning, the military detected a new wave of cruise missiles, presumably from Tu-95MS. Monitoring channels reported that Kalibr missiles were heading toward Dnipro, while the morning missiles were headed for Kyiv.
Additionally, between approximately 2:15 am and 3:00 am, Russian units carried out ballistic missile strikes. Enemy missiles flew toward Kyiv and Kharkiv, and there are assumptions that they also targeted Zaporizhzhia.
