Russia strikes Odesa with ballistic missile, causing deaths and injuries
On Wednesday, July 8, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile strike on Odesa, killing two people and injuring two others, according to the head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhii Lysak, and the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.
"The enemy attacked Odesa. Civilian infrastructure was damaged. Unfortunately, two people were killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. As of now, two individuals are also reported injured," Lysak said.
He also stressed that the air raid siren is still active and urged local residents to stay in safe places.
Kiper said that as a result of the strike, trucks, cars, and a commuter minibus caught fire. The blaze has been contained.

Emergency services are currently working at the impact site, and efforts to deal with the aftermath of the attack are ongoing.
Yesterday, Russian forces struck Odesa with a ballistic missile equipped with a cluster warhead. Six people were injured in that attack.
The Russian attack also set fire to a building on the premises of a manufacturing facility and several vehicles.
Earlier, on the night of July 6, Russian forces attacked Odesa with strike drones. A 23-year-old man was injured, and residential buildings were damaged.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the command of the Ukrainian Navy during his visit to the Odesa region. They discussed expanding the helicopter fleet to improve efforts to counter Russian drones.
