Russian forces launched an overnight attack on Odesa on July 6, injuring one person and damaging residential buildings, according to the head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhii Lysak.

A fire broke out in garages in one of the city's districts following the attack. Windows in nearby residential buildings were also shattered.

A 23-year-old man was injured in the strike. He is receiving all necessary medical care.

Emergency crews quickly extinguished the fire. An emergency response center has been set up at the scene to assist residents, where those affected can receive support and консультації.

Background

Russia has continuously targeted the Odesa region since launching its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Amid the ongoing large-scale attacks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently approved a special decision to strengthen Odesa's defenses.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has officially begun the operational deployment of its new Terra A1 interceptor drones, designed to counter Russia's Shahed-type kamikaze attack drones.
