Russian forces struck the residential sector of Mykolaiv during drone strikes using Shahed kamikaze drones. Preliminary reports indicate casualties from the enemy shelling, according to Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych.

"Russian forces once again attacked civilian infrastructure. The residential sector. Preliminary reports show casualties," the city mayor wrote on his Telegram channel.

He also added that an air raid alert continues in Mykolaiv region and urged residents to remain in shelters.

Local media and social media outlets in Mykolaiv report that several private homes were damaged in the city due to the Shahed drone strike.

According to unconfirmed reports from the Telegram channel Nikolaevsky Vanek, there are children among the casualties.

A woman was killed in a kamikaze drone strike in a residential area of Mykolaiv. Four adults and two children were injured.

One child has been hospitalized, while the other is receiving psychological assistance.

Russian airstrike

Earlier reports indicated that on the evening of November 16, Russian forces launched several groups of Shahed drones toward Ukraine, triggering air raid alerts in several regions.

It was later reported that air defense forces were engaged in enemy drone attacks in the Kyiv region.

Additionally, explosions were heard in Kyiv during the Russian airstrike as air defense systems worked to shoot down the Shaheds.

Later, it was confirmed that explosions occurred in Mykolaiv, where air defense was also engaged against Russian kamikaze drones.
