Russian strikes on Ukraine and ceasefire violations

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the introduction of a ceasefire starting Wednesday, May 6.

He also noted that Ukraine had not received any official requests from Russia regarding a ceasefire on May 9, as reported by Russian media.

Despite this, on the night of May 6, Russian forces struck civilian and industrial infrastructure in several regions of Ukraine. Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, and Kryvyi Rih came under Russian fire, and the situation was also tense in the Sumy region.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, from 6 p.m. on May 5 to 8 a.m. on May 6, Russia attacked Ukraine with two ballistic missiles, one guided air-to-surface missile, and 108 strike drones.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has already responded to the Russian violation of the ceasefire.
