More than 100 drones launched: Russia strikes Ukraine despite declared ceasefire

On the night of May 6, Russia attacked Ukraine with 108 strike drones and missiles of various types. Air defense forces managed to shoot down most of the enemy UAVs, the Ukrainian Air Force reports.
From evening until morning, Russian forces attacked with 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the Rostov region, 1 Kh-31 guided air missile from the airspace of the Kursk region, as well as 108 strike drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas types, and Parodiya decoy drones from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo — Russia, temporarily occupied Donetsk, Hvardiiske — temporarily Crimea.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, air defense shot down/suppressed 89 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas types, and Parodiya decoy drones in the north and east of the country.
Hits of 2 ballistic missiles, 1 guided air missile, and 9 strike UAVs were recorded at 8 locations, as well as the fall of downed targets (debris) at 1 location.
"The attack is ongoing, several enemy drones are in the airspace. Follow safety rules!" the Air Force warned.
Attacks on Ukraine
On the morning of May 6, Russian troops attacked several cities in Ukraine, thereby violating the ceasefire proposed and announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Immediately after the start of the ceasefire, an explosion was heard in Dnipro, but detection of enemy targets was minimal.
Toward morning, the enemy intensified attacks, and the military recorded drones and launches of guided aerial bombs.
Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia were also hit, where the consequences are already known.
In particular, in Kharkiv, houses were damaged, and there were casualties. In Zaporizhzhia, an industrial infrastructure facility was attacked.
